Funny Things Heard – Can I Speak To Fred?

People often spend upwards of £50+ going to the theatre or local arena to see a Comedian perform but as the saying goes "Often the best things in life are free' and the tension can be broken with a misused word or saying and the whole office can be in hysterics.

Here is a funny thing heard in our office

Can I speak to Fred Please?

Nothing unusual about it. A question you get asked all the time, You look up the name in the online telephone directory, tap transfer on your key pad and put them through.

Simple!

But one time I was stumped for a short while when I was asked that question:-

“Can I Talk To Fred Smith Please”

After a while I gave the only answer I could to the question by saying:

“But You Are Fred Smith!”

To which Fred replied

"So I am, I was actually ringing for Sara!”

Forgetting the name of who you have called for,
Ringing the wrong number,
Thinking of one person and ringing another.

I have done and been on the other end of the above quite often but I have never rung up and asked to speak to myself.

Apart from this one time I have never had another call like it!

(The names of the guilty party have been changed to avoid embarrassment)

5 Different Types Of Tea For The Office Cuppa

No Administrator can go longer than 5 minutes without a drink and no meeting can start until everyone has been provided with a pen, a notepad and a good old cuppa.

It is often seen as a simple menial task but nowadays there is so much choice.

Here is our guide to the 5 different types of tea for the Office cuppa

1 Tea – English Breakfast

Normal Tea!, A Cup Of Tea, Full Fat Tea.

The normal thing people have on their mind when they offer you a cup of tea.

English Breakfast Tea has been around since 1843 when it was invented by Richard Davies an American.

'Normal Tea' contains around 40-50 mg of Caffeine.

It is made out of a blend of black teas and gets its name from the English custom of drinking it first thing in a morning.

Well-known names are PG Tips and Tetleys.

2 Decaf Tea

Tea leaves (and also Coffee Beans) are hit with C02 at huge force which extracts the caffeine out of the drink.

Again well-known brands are PG Tips and Tetleys.

3 Green Tea

Originating in China, Green Tea is the type of tea that is made from Camellia Sinensis leaves.

It is low in calories with only one in each 100mls as Green Tea is 99% water.

Well-known brands in the Green Tea market are Clipper and Twinings.

4 Fruit and Herbal Teas

The list of Fruit and Herbal Teas seems to be endless nowadays with anything from Peppermint to Camomile and Ginger to Red Berries and anywhere in between.

Made by infusing tea leaves with herbs, spices or fruits.

Dating back to the ancient Egyptian times, Fruit Tea has been enjoyed due to its low caffeine count but also has some dangers to health if a toxic plant is used!

Twinings and Tea Pigs are leaders in this category.

5 Redbush Tea

Redbush or Rooibos to give it its real name can be found in the mountains of the Western Cape provinces of South Africa.

Again another tea that has no caffeine and can be enjoyed 'normally' with milk and sugar or if you want to push the boat out you can have honey and lemon in it instead.

Tick Tock and any Supermarket own brand are leaders in this field.
